Robert Bakiika is the Deputy Executive Director of EMLI and the New York Main Representative to United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Robert is a graduate scientist at the School of Forestry, Environmental and Geographical Sciences at Makerere University and a member to a number of reputable international organizations such as; United Nations Environment Programme's Civil Society Organizations Advisory Group on International Environmental Governance. Robert is a former Africa regional representative to UNEP Major Groups and Stakeholders Facilitating Committee.
Robert is the designated contact person to a number of UN organizations and conventions i.e. UNFCCC, UNCCD, Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs), UN Global Compact, World Bank/IMF Civil Society Forum, GEF NGO Network.
