Description/achievement of initiativeGuyana commits to improve the contraceptive prevalence rate from 34.5% to above 60% by increasing the method-mix at national and regional levels, including by promoting long-term methods and emergency contraceptives; and further integrating family planning in community-based activities, as well as gender-based violence and teen mothers initiatives. Guyana also commits to increase Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC) to 100%, including by strengthening referral and transportation in Basic EmONC facilities and improving the interconnectedness of maternal health facilities to ensure access to EmONC.
