To secure the engagement and participation of young people from Puerto Rico in the preparation process for developing the outcomes for the SIDS 2014 Conference. We look forward to sending two young representatives from Puerto Rico to the regional youth forum to be held in Kingston, Jamaica, during July 2013.

A call for applications will be made throughout youth networks in Puerto Rico. Interested applicants should make a submission on their vision for the future of their community/country/region/SIDS. The submission can be in any format. Submissions will be short listed to five applicants, who will be interviewed. Two applicants will be selected and funded to participate in the regional youth forum. Funding will be secured through external sponsorships. A fund-raising campaign will be executed to secure sponsors. Other interested youth have the option of applying for full funding support expected to be available form UNESCO, UNICEF an/or SIDS regional organisations. All delegates from Puerto Rico will participate in a series of local pre-forum workshops designed to help them achieve their optimum representation.
