Description/achievement of initiative

The main objective of our project is to make a comprehensive assessment of the impact of climate change on renewable energy resources in Ceará area including wind power and solar energy. This study included the evaluation of power production and its sensitivity and vulnerability to climate change and assessment of impact of extremes including floods, droughts, storms, seasonal pattern and variability. By the time commitment is fully delivered, the audience will realize the importance of emigrating from traditional power sources to Wind Power once the traditional energy strongly impacts negatively on climate change.

Implementation methodologies

The commitment will be successfully achieved through the analysis of real case of entrepreneurs from Ceará who are provinding benefits through the opportunity of citizens to experience Wind Power at home. The website of the company is: www.satrix.com.br.
Whatsmore, it may be considered that, according to Brazil's Wind Atlas, Ceará has one of the greatest wind potentials in Brazil. The study estimates that the states's wind potential is over 25,000 MW on-shore, and could be as as 35,500 MW if the state adds of-shore platforms.
