The first meeting of the 10-Member Group to support Technology Facilitation Mechanism took place on 3-4 March 2016 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The Group interacted with the Inter-Agency Task Team on STI for SDGs, and exchanged views with interested Member States.

Dr. Bill Colglazier and Dr. Heide Hackmann were elected as Co-Chairs of the Group. The meeting focused on the preparation for the first multi-stakeholder forum on science, technology and innovation for the SDGs (STI Forum), to be held in New York on 6-7 June 2016. Participants also discussed the online platform for the Technology Facilitation Mechanism.

Participants agreed on five guiding questions for the 2016 STI Forum that will also guide the online discussions.
