Ocean acidification impacts marine ecosystems, food security, and economies from local to global scales. This side event will illustrate the Community of Ocean Action Ocean Acidification and the Community of Ocean Action on Scientific Knowledge, Research Capacity and Technology Transfer collaborations to establish transformative action, and thus to achieve SDG target 14.3 to minimize impacts of ocean acidification. The event will present success stories, including the Global Ocean Acidification Observing Network and the International Alliance to Combat Ocean Acidification, and showcase ways to amplify future capacity development efforts, during the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.
