One of the key barriers to delivering energy solutions for all, thus reaching SDG7, is the limited access to affordable finance for urban and rural poor at the local and national levels and insufficient targeted finance flows at the international level. While financial innovation is happening, impact on the last mile is too little and scaling is a challenge. Aim of this session is to explore financing options that will enable delivery of (decentralised) energy solutions for the ‘last mile’, building on financial opportunities in the energy sector as well as nexus sectors like health and agriculture.
