The Permanent Mission of Morocco to the UN with The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)

The lack of accessible books is a real barrier to getting an education and leading an independent and productive life. The Marrakesh Treaty to Facilitate Access to Published Works for Persons Who Are Blind, Visually Impaired or Otherwise Print Disabled has made a difference in the lives of millions of beneficiaries. In the context of the Sustainable Development Goals, this event aims to discuss means and ways to strengthen effective partnerships for the education of people who are print disabled.

Speakers include:
  • Mr. Othmane El Ferdaous, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports of Morocco,
  • Mr. Daren Tang, Director General, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO),
  • Ms. MarĂ­a Soledad Cisternas Reyes, Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General on Disability and Accessibility,
  • Ms. Martine Abel-Williamson, President, World Blind Union.
