The role of partnerships between Governments and civil society to build policies and responses for a sustainable, inclusive and resilient recovery from Covid-19 and for the achievement of the 2030 Agenda
Thursday, 8 July 2021
7:30 AM - 9:00 AM
Virtual (NY Time)

Side Event

The Government of the French Republic

The proposed side-event, consistent with the previous Political Declaration of the SDG Summit and the concept note of the HLPF 2021, will examine the role of partnerships between Governments and civil society to build policies and responses for a more sustainable, inclusive and resilient recovery from Covid-19 and for the achievement of the 2030 Agenda. The discussions will focus on different examples of cooperation between Government and civil society organizations or citizens to create, scale up or change responses to different crises such as climate change and the COVID-19 pandemic. The idea is to share good practices and show that an inclusive partnership-based approach is essential to reach the sustainable development goals. The past months have shown that the participation of all stakeholders is needed to build back better. The partners of this event will be the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and civil society organizations.
