The coronavirus crisis has exposed deep-rooted challenges to health systems around the world. This session will bring together a diverse high-level panel from across the globe active in developing the sustainable development agenda with a focus on health systems strengthening to reflect on the post COVID-19 recovery from different angles, covering governance, economic activity, infrastructure, international partnerships, etc.
The session will provide a comprehensive view on how resilient health systems may be achieved through a multi-sector approach to the intersecting issues that affect the COVID-19 response, and will contribute to developing a better perception of the opportunities in terms of health systems strengthening.
The session will address several SDGs, with a particular focus on SDG 3 (Good Health), SDG5 (Gender Equality), SDG7 (Affordable and clean energy), SDG9 (Innovation and infrastructure), SDG 10 (reduced inequalities), SDG12 (responsible consumption and production) and SDG17 (Partnerships for the goals).
