Major Groups and Other Stakeholders Coordination Mechanism (MGoS-CM)

We have less than ten years remaining to achieve the objectives of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and the COVID-19 pandemic has only placed us further behind. In this event, the MGoS-CM will bring together civil society and other stakeholders to discuss advanced, effective and inclusive implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The MGoS-CM will present its vision for ambitious collective action and meaningful participation in all decision-making processes, including at the HLPF. Speakers will discuss a range of issues promoting the holistic review and application of the SDGs, including systemic barriers to produce changes towards eliminating inequalities inside and among countries, and the linkages between global, regional, subregional and local-level implementation. This event will also reflect on the Voluntary National Review (VNR) process and efforts to make it more inclusive. It will centralize human rights, gender equality and cross-cutting issues in discussions of all analysis, implementation, monitoring and review of the 2030 Agenda.
