Information on the purpose of your organization

FoRS - Czech Forum for Development Cooperation is the national Czech development and humanitarian NGO platform. The association carries out activities in the field of development co-operation, development education, sustainable development and humanitarian aid. It is a member organisation and one of co-founders of CONCORD - the European NGO Confederation for Relief and Development. FoRS has got over 50 members and observers, including universities.

The purpose of the association is to contribute to global poverty eradication, to support environmentally sustainable and socially just development, to contribute to human rights fulfilment and to contribute to conflicts prevention and their peaceful settlement.
Information on your programmes and activities in areas relevant to the subject of the Summit and in which country or counties they are carried out.
Among the activities of FoRS - Czech Forum for Development Cooperation relevant for upcoming UN conference on post-2015 and SDGs are:

a) advocacy and policy work at the Czech and the European levels to promote common interests of the Association's members and observers in the field of global poverty eradication, environmentally sustainable and socially just development promotion, human rights fulfilment and conflicts prevention and their peaceful settlement
b) active cooperation with state, municipal and local authorities in the Czech Republic in the field of development cooperation, development education and humanitarian aid, and partnership with institutions active in the field of Czech Development Cooperation and sustainable development (such as Government Office Council for Sustainable Development)
c) active cooperation with foreign entities and support of partnership of the Association's members and observers in their relations with foreign agencies, organisations and institutions dealing with development cooperation, development education, and humanitarian aid
d) providing educational services and activities, i.e. especially seminars, trainings, courses, study visits and conferences in the field of development education and active citisenship
e) participating in raising awareness on and knowledge of subjects matter of development cooperation, incl. on MDGs achievement and new SDGs framework, development education and humanitarian aid in the Czech Republic
f) contributing to setting the minimum standards for providers of foreign development assistance and humanitarian aid from Czech Republic in accordance with international commitments and development effectiveness
g) advocacy towards Czech and European policy and decision-makers for policy coherence for development
h) publishing activities on the key Association areas ? development cooperation, development education and humanitarian aid.

Information on activities at the national or international levels
At the national - Czech level, FoRS focuses on four activities pillars: policy and advocacy within development cooperation, humanitarian aid and development education and awareness-raising, platform NGO and other non-governmental members capacity-building.

At the international, mainly European level, FoRS is actively involved in the European development and humanitarian NGO networks such as CONCORD, Beyond2015, Global Campaign Against Poverty or Climate Action Network.
