2013 Bonn Declaration of Mayors call for a universal SDG for cities and call for new modalities of interaction with local and subnational governments
We, the Mayors and local leaders coming from 20 cities on four continents convened in Bonn, Germany’s United Nations City and home to ICLEI Local Governments for Sustainability, by the World Mayors Council on Climate Change, together with our partners at the Resilient Cities Congress 2013;

- urge nations to adopt a universal Sustainable Development Goal for cities and announce our readiness to collaborate with all local government networks and global partners to ensure its implementation as part of the post-2015 development agenda and the post-2015 disaster risk reduction framework.

- call for new modalities of interaction for local and subnational governments in order to fulfil their role as governmental stakeholders in global efforts on sustainability with in the High Level Political Forum of the post Rio+20 process at the United Nations, including involvement in agenda setting, consultation and implementation.
