U CLIMATICA
Description/achievement of initiative

To offer a FREE Climate Leadership Educational training for college level students while committing Universities to reduce their carbon footprint through different sustainable actions. Our initiative is aligned with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by boosting Climate Action (SDG13), offer an inclusive and quality (SDG4) education free of charge to young people, using partnerships to achieve objectives (SDG17) and promoting clean energy and energy efficiency (ODS7) within communities/universities to name a few. The students participate proposing projects that have tangible emissions reductions and in return, we offer them the skills, tools and inspiration to bring them to action.

Implementation methodologies

In our last training we educated 250 climate leaders from different parts of Peru during a 2-day conference & workshop event that focused on different themes likes water, forests, energy, food systems and health in relation to climate change and its repercussions both at the local and international level. We do this with the support of our partners and an array of local and international climate change experts from the academia, the Ministry of Environment, the US Embassy in Peru (USAID, USDA) and multilateral organizations like the International Develop Bank.
