Countries report on progress made towards UN global goals
11 Jul 2016
- Countries are due to report next week on the progress made in implementing the ambitious UN-led global goals aimed at ending hunger, and lifting people out of extreme poverty.
In 2015, world leaders adopted "Agenda 2030" to create a more inclusive world with the help of governments, businesses, civil society and ordinary citizens.
A key part of it are the Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs; a blueprint for what the world needs to do and how to get there.
On 11 July, a High-Level Political Forum on the SDGs will be held at UN headquarters in New York, chaired by Ambassador Oh Joon.
He told Jocelyne Sambira what to expect from the meeting.
