With the 2030 Agenda and its 17 SDGs, we have the basis of a new social contract between the governments of the world and their peoples. It is a solemn promise – to leave no one behind.

Around the globe, nations and their citizens have started to embrace these new goals. The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) is supporting efforts both at UN Headquarters and through initiatives on the ground. Together with the rest of the UN family, and many other committed organizations and people, we are making sure that everyone knows what these goals stand for and the possibilities they bring.

At the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development taking place on 11-20 July at UN Headquarters in New York, we will be sharing our progress and ideas on how to make the SDGs happen.

Ahead of this high-level event, share your questions or comments on the SDGs in a chat with Thomas Gass (@ThomasGass) on Twitter on Friday, 8 July at 8:30 am EDT. He looks forward to engaging with you using #SDGsChat!
