#SDGAction681
Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions
Description/achievement of initiative

We will contribute to the general improvement of the health of the environment by reducing our greenhouse gas emissions through the development and use of various cutting edge technologies.

Implementation methodologies

In order to positively correspond to current global environmental issues and diversification of values, Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings (MCHC) Group has created ‘Management of SUSTAINABILITY' (MOS). MCHC has added MOS to our management system in order to enhance corporate value. Our commitment to the United Nations Global Compact is part of MOS and MOS is part of MCHC's commitment to KAITEKI Value.

KAITEKI signifies challenging our state of sustainability, and materializing comfort for people, comfort for society, and comfort for the Earth. To evaluate KAITEKI Value, the Group is being managed along three axes: one aimed at enhancing earnings and other economic value, one aimed at advancing technology management, and one aimed at achieving sustainability for people, society, and the planet. We call this approach “KAITEKI Management”.

The MCHC Group has devoted considerable effort to delivering a way to monitor the progress and results of its corporate activities and to qualify the contribution these activities make to the Group's MOS axis. We commit to run our business in a way that delivers KAITEKI solutions. We will continue to improve and build upon MOS.

Our commitment is relevant to UN issue on Environment and climate change.

We will ensure transparency through annual reporting on progress.

The following resources will be devoted to the commitment, Energy optimization in chemical complexes, Fuel switch from Heavy oil to Natural Gas, Innovation to support more efficient and sustainable manufacturing processes.
