27 Apr 2017
location
Botswana
The objectives of the workshop are: i) to build the capacity of national major groups and other stakeholders that engage in Botswana’s follow-up and review processes of the 2030 Agenda including the 2017 HLPF and VNR session; ii) to develop a strategy for enhancing a coordinated stakeholder approach to assess progress on the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs from a wide range of stakeholders. It is expected the workshop would:

(a) Review initial actions by a wide range of national and local stakeholders on the SDGs, and how these could be included in the HPLF and VNRs;
(b) Provide space for national major groups and other stakeholders and government officials to come together, discuss and generate recommendations for meaningful and sustainable engagement in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and preparation of the 2017 VNRs;
(c) Share lessons from other countries that have participated in VNRs to inform Botswana’s participation
