Energy Seminar on African Electrical Interconnection

DESA, together with the Ministry of Electricity and Energy of the Government of Egypt and the e7 Network of Expertise for the Global Environment, held a Seminar on African Electrical Interconnection, in Cairo, Egypt, from 19-21 June 2005.

The objective of the seminar was to facilitate regional interconnection of electricity grids in Africa, in support of the goals of NEPAD. The invited participants included managers and technical personnel from government ministries, regional organizations, and utilities in Africa.

The participants adopted a set of conclusions at the close of the seminar.
