Virtual Expert Group Meeting on “STI for SDGs Roadmaps – paving the pathways for sustainable recovery and future resilience” (22 June, 9:30am – 1:00pm, New York, EDT) was successfully organized by EU/JRC and DESA/DSDG. The EGM focused on the lessons learnt from IATT’s Global Pilot Programme for STI Roadmaps for SDGs from the perspective of the pilot countries: Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, India and Serbia; as well as from the lead technical focal points: UNIDO, UNESCO, UNCTAD, the World Bank and EU – JRC. The meeting was open to the interested observers from the candidates to the Global Pilot Programme. More than two hundred STI stakeholders, including the OECD and the Brookings Institution, actively participated in the virtual event. DESA/DSDG delivered opening remarks and the director of Joint Research Centre, European Commission delivered closing remarks.
