Upon invitation from Prof. Mohan Munasinghe, Director-General of the Sustainable Consumption Institute of the University of Manchester, an international expert group meeting will be held in Manchester, UK as a first activity for the Development Account project: “Integrating climate change into national sustainable development strategies and plans in Latin America & the Caribbean.”

Project Description

The Development Account project “Integrating climate change into national sustainable development strategies and plans in Latin America & the Caribbean” seeks to strengthen the capacity of countries to integrate climate change concerns into their national sustainable development strategies (NSDS) and other planning processes. Particular focus is paid to adaptation measures and major issues related to technology transfer. The project also aims to strengthen countries' capacity to implement or absorb climate related technologies.

Aim of the international expert group meeting

The international expert group meeting aims to discuss, define and review a systematic approach, methodological tools and indicators for assessing climate change impacts and for integrating climate change into development plans.
