Overview

The first day of the Intergovernmental Preparatory Meeting (IPM) for the 17th session of the Commission on Sustainable Development featured a SIDS Plenary.

Panelists led interactive discussions to outline innovative policy options to support the sustainable development of SIDS.

Viable solutions for reducing the vulnerabilities of SIDS in the areas of land, drought and desertification, as well as for strengthening the status of local agriculture and rural development were addressed.
