RSVP: johannes.butscher@whiteband.org Synopsis: Extreme inequality has exploded in the past 30 years, making it one of the biggest economic, social, and political challenges of our time. Extreme inequality is not natural or inevitable—it is the consequence of political choices. How will this side event contribute to the HLPF? - Explain the relationship between inequality and poverty within the Agenda 2030 in particular the achievement of SDG1 in connection with SDGs 5 and 10 - Analyse the different approaches that stakeholders are using to try to reduce inequality for eradicating poverty including governments, the UN and civil society - Generate policy recommendations for the HLPF and VNR countries
