Building capacity on STI for the Sustainable Developments Goals
Tuesday, 5 June 2018
6:30 PM - 7:45 PM
Conference Room A, UNHQ

Side Event

UNESCO and UNCTAD with other IATT members

The side event will present the on-going UN-wide capacity-building work as part of the Technology Facilitation Mechanism (TFM) and the outcomes of its first initiative, the UN-wide training on Innovation Policies for SDGs, organized for the Arab region, in collaboration with UN-ESCWA. Participants from 13 countries attended the course delivered by seven UN agencies, in Jordan, in April 2018, and were introduced to the various aspects of innovation for the SDGs: policies, conceptual framework of the STI for SDGs, design and implementation, as well as monitoring and evaluation.
The interactive discussion will also serve to share views and ideas on the way forward of the IATT’s work to strengthen capacities related to STI for SDGs. It will also enrich the debate of the Forum Session 6 on STI roadmaps and capacity-building.
