Using SDG data to support science, technology and innovation - the SDG 6 example
Tuesday, 14 May 2019
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Conference Room A, UNHQ

Side Event

The event will demonstrate the new SDG 6 Data Portal, which brings together data on all the SDG 6 global indicators, as well as other key social, economic and environmental data. As such, the portal provides an overview about the status and progress towards SDG 6, including interlinkages to other sectors. In the event, we want to specifically focus on how data on the SDG global indicators can support science, technology and innovation (based on the example of SDG 6), and how the portal can help analyze interlinkages between SDG 6 and the SDGs 4, 8, 10, 13, and 16. The event will include a demonstration of the SDG 6 Data Portal, followed by short case studies on the use of data, and ending with a plenary discussion on how the link between data and science, technology and innovation can be strengthened, across sectors.
