2020 marks the ten-year anniversary of water and sanitation as universal human rights and begins the SDGs Decade of Action. As COVID-19 devastates public health and the global economy, human rights can inspire action towards universal access to water and sanitation as a pathway to sustainable development. This event will bring together civil society and the Special Rapporteur on the human rights to water and sanitation to spotlight rights-based advocacy in Zambia, Nigeria, and the Americas, celebrating a decade of recognition of the human rights to water and sanitation and inspiring transformative action for the SDGs.
