Tuesday, 14 July 2020
8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Virtual (New York time)

Side Event

Global Health Council, Living Goods, Communities at the Heart of UHC Campaign

Accelerated investments in community-based primary health care (PHC) are critical to COVID19 response and achieving SDG3. PHC can meet more than 80% of people’s health needs. Frontline health workers are the backbone of PHC, delivering care directly to communities and playing a pivotal role in preventing, monitoring, and responding to COVID. This virtual side event will bring together Ministry of Health officials and frontline health workers from the Global South in an interactive conversation to share successful strategies in strengthening community-based PHC, and to discuss how investments can be leveraged into long term SDG gains by countries reporting progress at the HLPF.
