During the HLPF held in 2019, UNDP, QFFD and Germany officially launched the Accelerator Lab Networks, which aims to create the world's largest learning network on development challenges, starting at 60 Labs serving 78 countries aiming to unleash the power of local innovations to address today’s complex development challenges. For the past year, the Labs have been exploring and testing local solutions to accelerate the achievement of the SDGs. Today, while the COVID-19 crisis is undoubtedly posing significant challenges to the achievement of the SDGs, it is also offering new opportunities for stimulating innovative solutions to tackle challenges and prepare for future shocks. As ideas have been sprouting up within the labs in an effort to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on local communities, the event will showcase how the labs have spurred innovative ideas to address today’s most pressing challenges, including the response to COVID-19
