United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation with Permanent Mission of Uganda to the UN and African Peer Review Mechanism

The event aims to bring together countries from Africa and other regions to discuss: -National responses on COVID-19 and its impact on economies of the global South while taking into consideration a humanitarian response to the crisis and best practices in mitigating the pandemic -Evaluation of the economic fallout from COVID-19 and analysis of the sustainability of national healthcare systems and resilient societies -The need to bolster and leverage partnerships within the global South - Novel approaches to economic production and digitization, supply chains, and trade relations Suggested speakers: APRM, UNOSSC, South Africa, Uganda, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Indonesia, Japan (TBC)
