SDGs Learning, Training and Practice

A pilot approach to supporting countries as they deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals will be introduced. This innovative framework combines strategic foresight methods, integrated policy analysis, capacity building and stakeholder engagement to develop or adapt a national strategy towards achieving the SDGs. Not only the framework is innovative but also the process; the country works in partnership with the OECD experts in different stages: from strategic direction setting, through planning and measurement, to implementation and monitoring.

The course aims at:

  • Promoting knowledge and experience - sharing through a discussion of country-specific case studies to highlight emerging principles for guiding effective policy action in enabling new national sustainable development strategies aligned with the SDGs.
  • Contributing to a better understanding of how policy coherence can be implemented in practice and what are some of the analytical challenges in combining economic modelling, environmental models and statistical frameworks to deliver an integrated policy action.
  • Learning about OECD best practices and experience in designing SDG-aware measurement frameworks, setting long-term goals, objectives and indicators.
