UN Alliance for Sustainable Fashion

In a first ever attempt, the UN Alliance for Sustainable Fashion has mapped out the UN System’s response to social and environmental problems related to the fashion industry. This work will culminate in the creation of a knowledge base to improve coordination between UN bodies and promote projects and policies that ensure that the fashion value chain contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals’ targets.

This event, Sustainable Fashion Hard Talk, will not only highlight such collaborative efforts, but also confront fashion personalities with hard-hitting questions and sensitive topics to explore avenues for turning fashion into a driver of sustainable development and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. The event will also provide guidance and recommendations for member States on how to move the fashion industry to a more sustainable path.

Key Objectives:
Raise awareness about the link between the SDGs, different UN agencies and fashion, and showcase concrete solutions for different stakeholders, addressing some of the challenges of building back better.
