Side Event

Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection with African Youth Climate Hub AGUYEN, Global Schools, UNEP, SDSN Youth and YOUNGO

The role of youth for sustainable development, including climate action, is consistently identified as crucial and the international community has been engaged in offering as much space as possible for these later to share their voices and actions as well as contribute with their innovative approaches and concerns in order to further strengthen the integrated, indivisible and interlinked nature of the Sustainable Development Goals. The aim of this side event is to inspire and spur integrated action leveraging the potential of education for sustainable development in order to build, in Africa and globally, an inclusive and effective path for the achievement of the 2030 Agenda in the context of the decade of action and delivery for sustainable development. Concrete initiatives will be presented in order to foster an empowering “can do” mindset, such as the African Youth Climate Hub, Global Schools, African Green Universities and Youth Education Network, and Young Reporters for the Environment.
