Sanitation and Water for All

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic triggered a flurry of high-level advocacy from different actors, organizations, and even the public. All attempting to influence decision makers regarding health in general, and factors contributing to health such as WASH in particular. Amidst all the demand from different actors and different sectors, success in actually getting more visibility and resources allocated to WASH within any COVID response was variable.

The event will give partners an opportunity answer the following questions:

  • How have the SWA global and regional processes including the World Leaders’ Call to Action and the Regional Finance Ministers’ Meetings helped prioritise WASH as a component of your Government’s or organization’s COVID-19 response?
  • How have the SWA ministerial level webinars and ministerial roundtables guide your COVID response? Was there an impact towards giving more visibility to the importance of elimination/reduction of inequalities in access to WASH services?
  • How have the SWA high-level processes affected multi-stakeholder engagement at the national level in your country and vice versa?

The session will be an interactive discussion including employing virtual poll questions.
