World Assembly of Youth (WAY) and International Young Leaders Organization IYLO
This intergenerational event features young leaders, representatives of UN entities and Member States, who will discuss recommendations on strengthening youth participation and leadership. Speakers shall present concrete commitments on how they intend to meaningfully engage with young people and empower youth. The discussion will focus on the International Young Leaders Organization’s (IYLO) Global Initiative for UN Youth and its corresponding reform proposal “UN Commitment to Youth”, which calls for the establishment of institutional mechanisms such as a UN Youth organization, a UN Youth Council and a UN Youth Assembly that put young people at the heart of the UN agenda and inter-governmental processes. Together we will explore the role young leaders can play in creating a new, inclusive, and effective multilateralism that leaves no one behind and responds to the interests and needs of young people and future generations.
