This side event will highlight the experiences of Indigenous Peoples on their engagement in the VNR of their respective countries in relation to their collective rights, needs, priorities and perspectives in advancing the SDGs.
The aim of the event is to: ¬ highlight the experiences, challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations of Indigenous Peoples in the VNR and in the SDG implementation and monitoring in their respective countries; and ¬ highlight recommendations of Indigenous Peoples on the recognition and respect of their collective rights and wellbeing, including on their roles and contributions in advancing sustainable development at the local and national levels.
The speakers for this event are indigenous representatives from Indonesia, Chad, Colombia, and Marshall Island.
