The Global Campaign for Education (GCE) is a civil society movement working to end the global education crisis. Our mission is to make sure that States act now to deliver the right of everyone to a free, quality public education.

GCE engaged actively with the UNESCO-UNICEF-led education consultation in Dakar in 2013. GCE members actively took part in the different outreach events of the High Level Panel. Many coalitions engaged in dialogue with their governments to influence national consultations on Post 2015 and Post EFA frameworks, which were held in several countries to ensure that the new agenda was derived from grassroots realities. These fed into submissions made by the various Major Groups in New York to the Open Working Group. As the co-Vice chair of the EFA Steering Committee, GCE?s President was part of the drafting group for the Muscat agreement, was present for the negotiations in New York when the Muscat agreement was shared with the Open Working Group and was in the drafting group of the Incheon Declaration- thus playing a critical role in establishing linkages between the education and SDG Post 2015 processes. GCE and its members served on the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th rounds of the IGN and the interactive hearing in May & the joint FFD-SDG hearings, had speakers in the 5th IGN and the Special Hearing and inputted into statements made in the 6th and 7th IGNs, and is part of the HLPF WG and engagement with the CSO FFD Group. We are part of the Beyond 2015 Indicators Task Force and Rapid Response teams. GCE also made submissions into all open spaces and processes for influencing the Post 2015 agenda where there has been scope and need for a civil society voice on education to be heard.
