Millennium Campus Network
Information on the purpose of your organization

The Millennium Campus Network is the student movement for global development. The MCN is preparing the next generation of global development leaders on university campuses.

The MCN accomplishes this goal by helping student leaders:
1) re-think the paradigms that perpetuate inequality, including connecting how our social identities affect our work and including challenging all sectors in their effect on poverty
2) promote a human-centric and collaborative approach to global development based on authentic and community-led partnerships
&
3) experience excellence and leadership growth through advancing their organizational capacity through MCN?s Key Performance Indicators: Operations, Partnerships, Resources, and Leadership Transition

The MCN carries out its mission through an annual conference (at the UN this year - http://www.mcc15.org) and fellowship program (www.mcnpartners.org/fellowship).

In its seven years, the MCN has educated and empowered over 5,000 campus leaders from 300 universities on the post-2015 development agenda. The network counts on its Board of Advisors leaders ranging from Dr. Jeffrey Sachs and Dr. Paul Farmer to musician John Legend. The organization has also honored US Secretary of State John Kerry, 2011 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Leymah Gbowee, the Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth Ahmad Alhendawi, Kenneth Cole, and more global leaders at its previous events: http://www.bostonglobe.com/lifestyle/names/2013/11/04/kenneth-cole-usaid-assistant-administrator-nancy-lindborg-among-honorees-millennium-campus-conference/8E9pBAzlrUlPIvvZmLCmlK/story.html.

Information on your programmes and activities in areas relevant to the subject of the Summit and in which country or counties they are carried out.
The MCN carries out its mission through an annual conference (at the UN this year - http://www.mcc15.org) and fellowship program (www.mcnpartners.org/fellowship). This year's conference will convene youth leaders from over 50 nations at the UN to launch campaigns (http://www.mcc15.org/campaigns) for the post-2015 development agenda. Youth leaders will be educated on the post-2015 agenda and the role they can play in advancing it, with leaders like Lakshmi Puri of UN Women and Dr. Jeffrey Sachs joining in. Some of the world's largest youth networks are also Global Co-Chairs of this summit, including the Pan-African Youth Union (works across 53 nations). It will be important to be present at the UN summit for the adoption of the post-2015 development agenda to share outcomes of this major global youth summit on the post-2015 agenda, outcomes of the campaigns that launch there, and share perspectives of youth from across our network.
