Information on the purpose of your organization
INADES-Formation Kenya (IFK) is an NGO working with rural communities for the realization of their social and economic potential through an approach called - Backing up farmers Organizational Dynamics (BAFOD) where the society (Men and Women) are given the audacity as the main actors of their future. IFK is a capacity building organization and a campaigner in support of family farmers. In Kenya IFK is a convener of organization supporting formulation, revision of policies in favor of family farming in collaboration with World Rural Forum.
INADES-Formation is in 10 African Countries but each country forms a National Association and has autonomy

IFK's programs are in the following components:
- Agriculture and Food Security
- Natural Resource Management (NRM)
- Climate Change Adaptation
- Advocacy and Governance
- Micro finance - Solidarity Fund For Development (SOFDEV)
- Community Agricultural Innovations and Adaptation
- Networking and Partnerships
Information on activities at the national or international levels
IFK is currently involved in training and building the capacities of rural communities in the following areas;
- Training and working with communities on sustainable management of Natural resources - terracing, run off water harvesting, re-afforestation, reclaiming waste land etc
- Working with rural farmers on food security specifically Agricultural production and marketing
- Advocacy on policies, governance issues and management of Natural resources management eg sandy rivers
- Rural Finance - to enable access to finance for farming inputs to rural farmers
- Training of farmers on Livestock production, management and value addition of livestock products
