Information on the purpose of your organization

We are a non-governmental organization founded in 2006, which defends, promotes and diffuses the human rights of groups in a vulnerable situation. Our activities: -Due process and access to justice: stategic litigation, research activities -Penitentiary system and rights of persons deprived of liberty: women, indigenous people and the LGBTTTI community -Trainings in the Adversarial Justice System to the operators of justice, journalists, law students, private lawyers and human rights defenders.

ASILEGAL A.C. hold activities that contribute to the economic, social and human rights improvement of people in a vulnerable situation, specially of women, children, indigenous people, the LGBTTTI community and mostly the people deprived of liberty. We believe that our work on the issues above can contribute to the improvement of quality of life of this specific population, but also to the reduction of social inequalities. We promote the respect and enforcement of human rights in the mexican society, both in a governmental level and throughout the citizenship, in order to ensure a correct implementation of the oral trial hearing system in Mexico, and contribute on the development of a more justice society.
Information on activities at the national or international levels
-Activities sponsoring human rights diffusion, promotion and legal defense in the benefit of a particular social sector. -Drafting of proposals for the lawmakers of the Union and the States, covering public policy, including human rights perspective in the different government actions. -Research, diffusion and promotion of human rights issues, specially regarding women, children, youth, elderly, prisoners, native indians, refugees, terminally ill individuals, immigrants, farmers, sexual diversity community, the above as an ennunciation without limitation. -Analysis and study of cases that may evidence potential violation to individual and or collective human rights. -The rendering of legal advisory to prisoners, to allow them to know about their rights and if applicable, legal defense of the case. -Legal defense of human rights victims, even those at lockup and detention centers, specially those cases of alleged torture, mistreatment, discrimination, illegal detention, kidnapping and out-of-court execution victims. -Preparation and management of projects to obtain public and private funds. -Provide training to partners to optimize services rendered during defense, promotion and diffusion of human rights. -Creation of indicators following research activities allowing an analysis to the issue of poverty, implementing activities tending to promote and disseminate work results and thus generate poverty erradication proposals. -Foster activities for the purposes of discussing issues part of the civil and political rights, as well as economic, social, cultural and environmental rights. -Implement activities for the purposes of researching, disseminating and promoting the gender perspective issue.
