Somos + Decididos has been working in Mexico using the MY World 2015 peoples? global survey and the World We Want 2015 online people?s engagement platform at strengthening the voices and actions of young people in the development and implementation of the post-2015 development agenda at Veracruz.

So as a team we observed that at least 5 of the 16 priorities concern issues related to the environment and climate change as they are access to clean water and sanitation, reliable energy at home, affordable and nutritious food, action taken on climate change and also protecting forests, rivers and oceans

We worked hand by hand with the team of Jalisco, Mexico that assumed the commitment of the application of the MY World Global Survey for citizens led by the United Nations and partners because it aims to capture people's voices, priorities and views, so that global leaders can be informed as they begin the process of defining the new development agenda for the world.

As a result of the mutual objectives and complementary synergies to build a better world, this letter is intended to summarize the foundation of a partnership between Somos +Decididos, AC and the UN Millennium Campaign on forwarding Citizen Engagement in the development and implementation of the post-2015 development agenda via the MY World Global Survey

In that agreement letter between our organization and the UN Millennium Campaign through its Director Mitchell Toomey we assumed the commitment to apply 100,000 MY World Global Survey in Veracruz State in Mexico, the third biggest of population in the country and 10% will be apply in indigenous dialects at Zongolica saw, the poorest region of our state.

Also to invest in future generations, by continuing to involve the actors and volunteers in meaningful ways in the state of Veracruz by promoting the adoption and integration of the new global sustainable agenda into policies and actions and to collaborate on the new iteration of MY World in its next phase when that plan comes to fruition.
Information on activities at the national or international levels
In our field work, we understand that citizen participation should begin at an early age, through the care of the environment, that's why we plan the strategies to be implemented in all levels of education for children and youth, parents and teachers.

We are motivated to work on these aspects by the current lack of educational programs on environmental issues where alternative waste management in everyday life to raise awareness and motivate people to care for the environment but for practical display in order to have a better understanding of the problem and that the theory does not help in that issue.

Ecokitchen is a program that transforms the used oil for cooking into liquid soap to reduce pollution of the Papaloapan River. With no intervention, each liter of this waste pollutes one thousand liters of water and also causes problems in the drainage system that generates clogging and prevents the natural flow causing water ponding and flooding.

With the support of the United Nations Development Programme in Mexico, we were recognized as one of the twenty projects in public policy advocacy at the country.
