Information on the purpose of your organization

? Protect and promote the rights of Dalits community and other marginalized community advocating through social movement, mass media and project management for promoting livelihood eradication difference forms of poverty ;
? Monitor, research, document, and assist the victims of Dalits human rights violation cases for protecting, promoting and fulfilling their rights;
? Develop journalist from different community and highlights the issues of Dalit and marginalized community through medias for making accountable and transparent government and other stakeholders;
Information on your programmes and activities in areas relevant to the subject of the Summit and in which country or counties they are carried out.
The program and activities in areas relevant to the subject of the Summit our organization is carrying out following, since 14 years
social justice and anti cast based discrimination advocacy, Poverty alleviation, gender and social inclusion, education on disaster reduction, health and education, food security, movement for equal access, good governance and democracy, capacity building of journalist as well as Dalit and marginalized community, through the different social and mass media. The program and activities are being implemented at local, national and South Asia level focusing to the Dalit and marginalized community. Some time the activities are being implemented with the support of national, international level alliance as well as likeminded organizations. Similarly, the organization has excellent relation with the Nepal Government in implementing programs. Similarly, the organization on behalf of CSO Nepal was actively involved in Post Development agenda setting session conducted at national and South Asia level.
Information on activities at the national or international levels
The organization is conducting following activity at national and local level of Nepal.
The organization works to protect, promote and fulfill the human rights of all through including environmental justice and sustainable disaster risk reduction through project management related with awareness, advocacy and media mobilization for ending caste based discrimination and untouchability. For this, the organization has adopted three strategic approaches 1) Project Management: the organization is communicating with its stakeholders, rights holders and duty bearer through the different project for promoting their rights and livelihood and protecting the targeted people from different hazard and disaster. 2) Seek Inclusive Media: in this course, the organization is dreams inclusive media providing capacity building measure like training, and exposer to the marginalized journalists. Besides that we are providing future article service to the different media house for making available diversified new and view in the respective media house; and 3) Own Media Mobilization: similarly the organization is broadcasting Katwal Radio Magazine (KRM) and also operates the radio station Radio Jagaran 93.6 MHz in Rupandehi district. In addition to aforementioned facts, the organization is conducting following activities.
Journalism Training- JMC is providing training to the journalists. Up to date, it has trained more than five hundreds, who are active in different media across the country and the efforts made by the journalists has supported to uplift dignity of Dalit people besides livelihood, social status and human rights of these people.
Social Media: To mainstream the voice of Dalit community, JMC is utilizing such as website, blog, Twitter account and Facebook page JMC disperses Dalit news in a daily. It has become a valuable tool to interact with members and interested parties.

Media watch: to monitor the coverage on Dalit concerns and issues, JMC carrying out media watch of national newspapers and publishing media watch report analyzing obtained data. This has helped to measure pattern and progress on coverage status every year. And it is providing tool for lobby and advocacy with media organizations and houses for highlighting the Dalit issues.
Advocacy and policy Dialogue: JMC broadly being involved in lobby and advocacy at local, national and international levels and organize policy dialogue on various theme for mainstreaming Dalit community in different sector of state including development process to support social justice and access to resources so as to establish their dignity equal to other.

Dalit Human Rights Case Documentation: Atrocities against Dalit community are continuing despite legal bandage that demoralizes status of Dalit people in society. Journalists affiliated with JMC network are the prime actor to bring out such violation cases from the ground and such cases are tracked properly and disseminated broadly through JMC website and social media.
Research and publication: researches are the tool for lobby and fact basis advocacy, therefore JMC is being engaged in research and publication related with media, access to justice and resources of Dalit community and policy practice.

Tele Serial: An acclaimed Tele serial called Dalan (oppressed) was produced by JMC and broadcasted through the central broadcasting service of Nepal Television (NTV). Now, the JMC is going to marketing the serial at national and international level.
