Information on your programmes and activities in areas relevant to the subject of the Summit and in which country or counties they are carried out.
CLADE has been participating in several activities related to the shaping of the Post 2015 Development Agenda. Taking into account the discussions in the international context, CLADE, jointly with several civil society organizations, has been pushing for human rights to be included at the center of the agenda, fostering particularly the human right to education as a key to all other rights. Thus, CLADE developed, in alliance with the Global Campaign for Education, a comprehensive strategy that articulates partnerships and advocacy efforts, mobilization and advocacy at national, regional and international levels.

The Campaign and its members have participated in several consultations opened to civil society, at national, regional and international levels. Regional consultations include "Realizing the future we want for Latin America and the Caribbean? (Guadalajara, Mexico, 2013) and, at global level, the Global Consultation Meeting on Education (Dakar, Senegal, 2013). In parallel, CLADE also contributed to virtual consultations promoted by UNESCO / UNICEF on the themes "Quality learning", "Financing of the right to education" and "Governance of the right to education", as well as those convened by the UN Non-Governmental Liaison Service (UN-NGLS).

It is worth mentioning the efforts CLADE has made to promote debates around the Post 2015 Development Agenda definition process. CLADE has engaged in the organization of important events contributing to the main debates around Education in the Post-2015 Agenda. As part of the 68th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York, CLADE has promoted the side event ?The Human Right to Education?, gathering representatives of States, UNESCO, UNICEF, UN Women and the Special Rapporteur on the Right to Education of the United Nations. In the following year, CLADE promoted the reception ?A world of dignity: education at the heart of sustainable development?, in parallel with the 69th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. The event took place within the framework of the photo exhibition Genesis, of Sebastião Salgado, and was co-convened by 25 organizations and networks of civil society, gathering Member States, UN agencies, civil society organizations, teacher unions and artists.

To share information and foster civil society participation in the Post 2015 is a key objective of CLADE´s activities around next Summit. CLADE has produced several documents and statements along the process, such as the statement ?The Human Right to Education in the Post-2015 Agenda?, signed by 22 networks and regional and international civil society organizations and presented within the framework of the 68th UN General Assembly.

Some of the highlights of the last couple of years include:

Participation in the build up and consolidation of the Post2015 Development and Education Agenda. CLADE has been taking part in every consultation and process related to this crucial issue, the following webpage brings more detail: http://www.campanaderechoeducacion.org/post 2015

CLADE has fostered strong international mobilization in Latin American around the ?Global Action Week?, one of the biggest events of the education movement. It provides every national and regional education campaign with an opportunity to highlight one area of the Education for All agenda and make targeted efforts to achieve change on the ground, with the added support of education campaigners and millions of members of the public worldwide joining together for the same cause. In 2013, campaigners raised the issue of teachers, their work conditions, training, etc., and, in 2014, they drew attention to the right to education of persons with disabilities. More details at www.campanaderechoeducacion.org/sam2014.

Several efforts have been put in place in order to map out and understand the privatization of education systems in the region, a crucial issue for right to education advocators. More details can be found at www.campanaderechoeducacion.org/privatizacion.

In alliance with several partners and UN Agencies such as UNESCO and UNICEF, CLADE has carried out some participatory researches and consultations with education communities all over the region, including small children (Colombia, Brazil and Peru), youth (Argentina, Guatemala and Ecuador) and adults. The central point is to raise their voices and viewpoints, which constitute a central element of our advocacy activities.
