Information on the purpose of your organization
The main purpose of United Youth for Development as the name connotes is have a society where progress and all indices of relative prosperity is seen to be general and accessible. This is by supporting, promoting and be a genuine advocate of any project, policy or intervention that will promote growth and development in the society both in impact and measurement.
Information on your programmes and activities in areas relevant to the subject of the Summit and in which country or counties they are carried out.
So far, United Youth for Development has carefully designed and successfully carried out the following programmes to fast-track accelerated development in Nigeria especially at the grass-root level:
1) Periodic seminar on the need to invest and focus on food security in order to promote mental and physical strength in one hand and reduce loss of man-power through hunger on the other hand.
2) Open awareness on active participation in all government decision making and electoral processes to maintain accountability and responsiveness in governance.
3) Expertise advice on climate change and dangers inherent in environmental pollution.
4) Adoption of 2015 sensitization theme in rural area tagged: EDUCATION FOR ALL (EFA) to promote girl child education
5) Family planning counselling for rural dwellers
Information on activities at the national or international levels
United Youth for Development has participated extensively on constitutional reform debate, youth development agenda, Africa Youth Charter implementation processes in Nigeria in collaboration with other non-governmental organization.
Also, through United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and its affiliate; United Nations Convention on Corruption (UNCAC), United Youth for Development has participated in international peer review gathering to fashion out new ways of implementing United Nations General Assembly resolutions on the above subject matter.
