As Network we aim to promote the construction and consolidation of a broad movement of Afro-Caribbean, Afro-Latinamerican and Diaspora´s Women, to incorporate the ethnic, racial and gender perspectives in the continent.
Information on your programmes and activities in areas relevant to the subject of the Summit and in which country or counties they are carried out.
ARMAAD (ANWAAD in english) is a space of articulation and empowerment that brings together more than 400 organizations and black women from 22 countries of Latin American and Caribbean region. Since 1992 we develop processes of social and political impact that promote multiculturalism and recognition for the construction of democratic, fair, just, multicultural, free of racism, racial discrimination, sexism and exclusion societies.
Information on activities at the national or international levels
Based on the reality of black and afrodescendent women, ARMAAD organized and held the First Summit of Afrodescendent women leaders from the Americas, from 26 to June 28, 2015, during which more than 270 afro-latin and afro-caribbean women adopted a Political Platform with an Action Plan showing the positioning of Afrodescendent women in central themes of the development agenda; facing the International Decade of Afrodescendents: Recognition, Justice and Development.
