by: United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA)

8 July 2015, 10.00 am-1.00 pm

The General Assembly stipulated that the High-Level Political Forum on sustainable development (HLPF) will conduct regular reviews, starting in 2016, replacing the National Voluntary Presentations (NVPs) of the ECOSOC Annual Ministerial Reviews and building upon lessons learned from the NVP experience and other mechanisms. The national reviews will be State-led, voluntary and include developed and developing countries. It is important that these national reviews advance the sustainable development goals and are useful nationally, regionally and globally. Existing review mechanisms could be used to the extent possible.
