ReadABookNigeria Initiative
Description/achievement of initiative

The ReadABookNigeria Initiative is dedicated to achieving the future of Nigeria we want through focused and concrete educational actions at the local and international levels. Specifically, ReadABookNigeria is working to:1. Increase by 70 the number of youths with relevant skills, especially for entrepreneurship, % by 20502. Ensure all youth achieve literacy and acquire skills needed to promote sustainable development and lifestyles3. Promote a culture of peace and non-violence, and the appreciation of cultural diversity and culture's contribution to sustainable development

Implementation methodologies

ReadABookNigeria: To engage the youths in actively seeking and assimilating available knowledge on Entrepreneurship through books, offer skill acquisition to pursuing such ventures and mentorship alliances with experienced resourced persons.TheBookDiscus: To hold monthly book readings, discussions and writing boot camps that foster youth literacy.ThinkSUSTAINABILITY!: To provide information on sustainable living through campaigns, walks and other outdoor activities, and equip the public with skills to think and do sustainability daily. The Reading Network: To compile and grow a community of active readers from the working class community, individuals reading at least one new book monthly and raising independent learners.

Coordination mechanisms/governance structure

Cordinated by a Circle of Hosts selected annually from its community of active readers to strategically map out a plan of action to further advance its goals.The Action Plan will be executed by the Founder, and implemented with assistance from Local community hosts.

Conduct six intensive entrepreneurial knowledge acquisition courses in six local government areas in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and twelve courses spanning three other states.
August 2020
Establish 180+ literacy training centres across the country
November 2016
Engage 1200 illiterate youths on educational book readings, writing competitions, and book discussions around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
November 2017
Get 2,000,000 Nigerians reading at least one new book per month.
November 2029
Enlighten 60% of the Nigerian population on sustainability development and lifestyles, as well as equip them with day-to-day tools on thinking and practicing sustainability.
