Through 40 years of operations,Statoil has established a presence in more than 30 countries. The company represents today the 6th largest international oil and gas producer and bases its production on carbon and energy efficiency.
Statoil is committed to meeting the growing energy needs of the world through the responsible development of hydrocarbon resources. In the context of developing new energy solutions, they have built a strong platform in the offshore wind sector.
Implementation methodologies
By working closely with governments, their industry and other collaborators, Statoil can speed up the innovations the world needs. Statoil is committed to continue advocating for ambitious climate policies, including a price on carbon, as a signatory to the UN Global Compact and its Caring for Climate initiative. The company has also committed to the World Bank’s new target for zero flaring by 2030, has actively working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from their activities and has a particular focus on methane emission reduction through engagement with the UNEP Climate and Clean Air Coalition Oil and Gas Partnership.
