Government of Sweden (2nd SE4All Forum Commitments)
Description/achievement of initiative

In 2014, the Government of Sweden, committed to catalyze investments of up to one billion US dollar for the programme Power Africa over a ten year period. At present, the focus is on Tanzania, Mozambique and Zambia – but the Government has foreseen adding cooperation with other countries over time. The Government has been focusing their contribution to Power Africa in line with SE4All objectives on:
1. increased use of renewable energy and reduced emissions of greenhouse gases;
2. increased energy efficiency in both production and consumption; and
3. increased connectivity and providing off-grid solutions, including small-scale energy solutions.
