Description/achievement of initiative

In the San Pedro Region in Côte d'Ivoire, the SDG-F has been working to reduce poverty by creating economic and job opportunities. The region suffers from high rates of unemployment, especially among women and youth.

Implementation methodologies

An integrated approach has been introduced and it has included training, collaboration with governments, local community and religious leaders as well as research on the economic outlook of the region, an overhauling of rural land tenure practices and the creation of new income generating activities. The total programme budget corresponds to $3,3 million. Out of this total amount, 44% is funded by the SDG-F.
