Kokoda Roots Adventures: Supporting the People of Papua New Guinea
Description/achievement of initiative

Kokoda Roots Adventures aims to support the People of Papua New Guinea by creating sustainable jobs for the local villages.

Implementation methodologies

Kokoda Roots Adventures has employed 20 local men out of poverty. All Kina (money) will remain in the villages along the Kokoda track. Soon we will be launching social enterprises with the local women to make profit out of natural resources.

Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

We have created a Kokoda Roots Adventures Face book page and matching website. Laptops and mobile phones have been donated. We communicate through Facebook, emails, viber, mobile calls, and WhatsApp services.

Coordination mechanisms/governance structure

We have just made contact with Newcastle University to see if their top marketing students wish to take on our project as part of their degree studies.
